Kurt Angle’s illustrious career will be coming to an end at Wrestlemania this Sunday, where he will be facing Baron Corbin in his final match. Despite all the negative backlash, WWE kept the match in the end.
While speaking to The Gorilla Position, Kurt Angle was asked about his retirement match. He revealed that he wanted John Cena to be his final opponent, but that didn’t happen. He then said that Cena will have a WrestleMania match, except he won’t be facing Angle.
“I was hoping it was gonna be John, but it didn’t happen. I’m sure that he has another match in mind, but I wanted him to end my career just like when he started I started his career. So it was a good little storyline, but unfortunately, it’s not gonna work out.”
“I love John and I know that he will have a WrestleMania match. I’m not sure if they’ve announced it yet, but I’m almost positive he’s gonna be there.”
This confirms that Angle wanted Cena as his final opponent which was reported earlier. He also seems to be disappointed that he will be squaring off against Baron Corbin.
We will get to know on Sunday who John Cena will be facing at Wrestlemania.
