On episode 19 of WOOOOO! Nation with Ric Flair, former NFL star Lawrence Taylor spoke about various topics. Down below is an excerpt from that interview in which he talks about wrestling at WrestleMania 11 against Bam Bam Bigelow and that it was an idea that came from Vince McMahon.
“I thought about it and then when I met Bam Bam, I decided, ‘yeah, I can do this’ and it was a great experience for me,” Taylor recalled. “It was so different and it was exciting. The atmosphere we had, Salt-N-Pepa singing, and everything. It was just a great atmosphere.”
Taylor said that performing at WrestleMania was fun because he got the opportunity to cross over from one sport to another, and, despite having a Hall of Fame career in the NFL, now some people only know Taylor from his WrestleMania appearance.
“To this day, people come and say, ‘hey, I know you! You were on WrestleMania 11!’ and I say, ‘Yeah, okay. That’s one of the things I did! Yeah, okay!’.”
