Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have become the most dominant tag team on Smackdown Live in recent years, winning the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 34 while completely bulldozing the New Day and the Usos.
The Bludgeon Brothers spent quite a bit of time together before they ruled the blue brand, working with Bray Wyatt as part of the Wyatt Family for years. While the group was extremely successful, Harper and Rowan didn’t always get along.
In a recent episode of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, Harper revealed that he and Rowan initially hated each other.
When we first started, me and Rowan hated each other. I don’t know what it was. We just didn’t get along. We were forced to room together. He’s taller than me. If you look at some of my old pictures, I clearly tried to put weight on and it didn’t work well.
He’s a f***ing giant, and he snores. So…I didn’t sleep a lot. We just didn’t get along. But, there slowly came the realization of, ‘Hey, man. We are stuck together. Are we gonna fight against it or are we just gonna do it?’ It took me a long time to realize that…but when I did, we made it work way better.
The Bludgeon Brothers are definitely on the same page now and are set to defend their titles against the New Day at Summerslam on August 19th.
