Matt Riddle Drops Brock Lesnar Retirement Bombshell

The duo formed the successful tag team known as Team RKBro, achieving significant milestones such as winning tag team championships together.

In a surprising turn of events, as Randy Orton took a break from WWE due to injury, speculation arose among fans about a potential heel turn, with Orton betraying Riddle and dissolving their partnership. However, Riddle, displaying a proactive approach, pitched the idea to WWE officials that he should be the one to turn heel.

The MMA Hour reported that Matt Riddle proposed the concept, emphasizing that due to Randy Orton’s enduring popularity, fans would continue to support Orton even if he portrayed a villainous character.

Riddle explained his perspective, stating, “This was my suggestion, and talking to everybody in the office, and even Randy agreed, was the smarter idea would be if I turned on him.” He highlighted Orton’s legendary status in the wrestling world and believed that fans, despite Orton turning heel, would still cheer for him.

Acknowledging the chemistry he shared with Orton in the ring, Riddle expressed confidence that their matches would remain compelling even with a change in the storyline. He envisioned a scenario where he, as the antagonist, could elicit genuine audience reactions and create a compelling narrative.

“So, I’m like, ‘Guys, me trying to get sympathy when Randy is beating me isn’t going to work. They are just going to cheer Randy beating me up.’ Now, if I attack Randy when you’re not expecting it and hurt Randy, and I take him away, the crowd is going to be real mad at me, and I’m going to get nuclear heat. And we have good chemistry, and the story will play out as it shall.”

This proactive approach from Matt Riddle showcases his understanding of the dynamics of fan engagement and storytelling within the world of professional wrestling, providing insight into the creative process behind the scenes at WWE.
