Matt Riddle Reason For WWE Departure Leaks

Matt Riddle was fired by WWE today and did not quit, according to reports.

Quincy Elliott’s journey in WWE took an unexpected turn when he was released from the company, despite the initial hype surrounding his NXT debut last year. WWE had clearly seen great potential in him as they promoted his arrival with enthusiasm. However, as time went on, it became evident that things weren’t progressing as planned, both in terms of his in-ring performance and backstage behavior.

Despite the initial excitement surrounding his NXT debut, Quincy Elliott struggled to connect with the audience as effectively as WWE had hoped. Additionally, fans were disappointed with the way he was booked, which further hindered his momentum within the company.

The news of Quincy Elliott’s release from WWE emerged, and what made it more surprising was his seemingly nonchalant reaction to it. During a livestream on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp reported that Elliott had caused significant issues backstage, particularly for the staff. This revelation shed light on the internal problems that may have contributed to his departure.

Sapp didn’t mince words when he stated, “Quincy Elliott was trouble. Quincy Elliott caused all kinds of issues for the staff in WWE. It was somebody that was always going to be up next on the chopping block. No other way to put it. Quincy Elliott was gonna get cut.”

Quincy Elliott’s final appearance in WWE occurred in an NXT North American Title number one contender battle royal in March of that year. With his release, the question now remains whether he will find a new home in the world of professional wrestling once his non-compete clause expires.
