We have seen a number of NXT stars making their official main roster debut since WrestleMania and latest report suggest that another top NXT star will be switching brands soon.
It was first reported by Wrestling observer that WWE is planning to bring Matt Riddle to the main roster and the former UFC star’s main roster debut is ‘imminent’
PWinsider has since provided some more update on his future and the site notes that multiple sources have confirmed that Riddle win be joining the SmackDown brand.
This call up has apparently been planned since before WrestleMania 36 but it was put on hold after the Show Of Shows for some reason and the talks began again a few weeks ago.
There is no word yet on what it means for Riddle’s future with NXT but many believe that his upcoming cage fight with Timothy Thatcher on this week’s episode of the show could be his last bout for the brand.
