Former First Lady Melania Trump is seemingly living a “strange” new life, according to author Laurence Leamer via Newsweek.
It has been noted that the Leamer, who wrote 2019’s Mar-a-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump’s Presidential Palace, told The Daily Telegraph on Monday that despite being frequently seen at the Palm Beach, Florida, club before her husband’s presidency, she is now rarely seen by members of Mar-a-Lago.
“She rarely exits Mar-a-Lago. It’s a strange, isolated life they have in that place,” Leamer told the newspaper. “Nobody knows where she is. It’s like a mystery. It’s certainly talked about.”
Following her husband’s departure from the White House in January 2021, Melania has withdrawn from public life. Despite being a mainstay of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, the former first lady has not been seen with her husband on the campaign road in 2024. She has also missed all of his court dates, including the arraignments for his four criminal charges and his civil fraud trial in New York state.
Melania, who was born in Slovenia, made an uncommon public appearance earlier this month on December 15 at the National Archives during a naturalization ceremony. She spoke about the difficulties she faced in obtaining U.S. citizenship. A few weeks prior, she had also gone to the memorial service for former First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
During the weekend, some people noticed that former President Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, did not sit next to him during the Christmas dinner at Mar-a-Lago. This has generated new speculation regarding her location and her relationship with the former President. Additionally, Melania did not appear in any of the holiday-related videos that Donald Trump shared on Truth Social. Instead, she chose to post her own Merry Christmas message online.
