More legal troubles emerge for the former president, Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump is reportedly taking steps to protect her own wealth.
Donald Trump is set to start the first trial for his alleged fraud, which begins in a courtroom in Southern Manhatten, in New York today. The former president has been taken to court after a three-year investigation found he and others within the Trump Organization used false or misleading financial statements inflating the value of their assets.
The main defendant at the upcoming trial for the presidency will be the Republican candidate, who may attend but is unlikely to testify unless compelled. As Mr. Trump’s legal struggles reach an unprecedented low, the public is increasingly questioning the whereabouts of Melania, as seen on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
The former first lady has seemingly been missing in action since she made a rare statement on September 11th, vowing to “never forget” the victims of the 9/11 attacks.
Melania posted a photo of the New York skyline with the hashtag #NeverForget as her tribute, alongside an emoji of the American flag. Just last week, it was reported the former model had taken measures to protect herself and her 17-year-old son Barron Trump, as Donald faces more criminal indictments.
The renegotiations raised suspicions about the couple’s relationship, but sources tell Page Six that this was not the case.
They said: “Over the last year, Melania and her team have been quietly negotiating a new ‘postnup’ agreement. Melania is most concerned about maintaining and increasing a substantial trust for their son, Barron.”
A second Insider told the outlet: “I know that she wanted it to provide her with more, and also – from what I understand – there’s a specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain.”
One source said the former FLOTUS wanted a new deal because there’s a possibility she’ll have to move back into the White House.
The former first lady was notably absent in New York for Mr. Trump’s three arraignments in April, when Trump faced charges over Stormi Daniels hush money.
