Ivanka Trump, who declared herself “done” with Washington politics nearly two years ago, is reportedly reconsidering her stance as her father’s political influence resurges ahead of the next election. Initially, she distanced herself from her father’s turbulent political brand by skipping his 2024 campaign announcement and asserting that she “would never” return to her role as senior advisor. However, friends and acquaintances indicate that Ivanka may now be contemplating a comeback as the possibility of Donald Trump returning to the presidency becomes more plausible.
R. Couri Hay, a society publicist and longtime acquaintance of the Trump family, told Business Insider that the resurgence of Trump’s political influence is making the idea of Ivanka’s return more conceivable. He pointed out that Melania Trump, who also distanced herself from politics, is now visibly supportive of her husband at events, which suggests that Ivanka could similarly feel compelled to re-engage. Hay remarked, “Despite the rocks on the shore, the call is very strong,” indicating the powerful allure of political involvement despite past challenges.
A report by Puck, citing a source familiar with Ivanka’s thinking, suggests that she is “warming to the idea of trying to be helpful” to a potential second Trump administration and is “privately not ruling out having some sort of role” if her father is re-elected. This marks a shift from her previous hardline stance, with the source noting that she is no longer adamantly opposed to the idea.
A spokesperson for Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner reiterated to Puck that they are focusing on their family and private sector lives, with no intentions of returning to politics. However, friends of Ivanka suggest that while she may not make a full-fledged return, she is likely to be visible at key events, such as the upcoming Republican convention, in support of her father’s reelection campaign. Most importantly it’s to be rememrbed that Ivanka ready to be First Lady again.
