On July 8, former First Lady Melania Trump hosted an intimate fundraiser at her Trump Tower penthouse in New York City, raising $1.4 million for the Log Cabin Republicans, a conservative group advocating for LGBTQ+ rights.
Melania made a striking appearance in a $4,000 red Valentino dress with appliqué flowers and Christian Louboutin pumps. The event attracted megadonors and featured hors d’oeuvres and champagne, with Melania personally welcoming guests and delivering remarks about her and former President Donald Trump’s support for the group.
Notable attendees included Kellyanne Conway, former Senator Kelly Loeffler, and former U.S. National Intelligence Director Richard Grenell. Grenell praised Melania on social media, stating, “@MELANIATRUMP opened her NYC Penthouse tonight to raise money for @LogCabinGOP. It’s the first campaign event ever held at the Trump residence. And we raised $1.4 million in one night. Our goal is to get 50% of the gay vote for Donald Trump.”
The Log Cabin Republicans also expressed their gratitude on X, formerly Twitter, saying, “This was an amazingly spectacular event, for Log Cabin Republicans and the future of the Republican Party. We cannot be thankful enough to @MelaniaTrump for her leadership and support of equality for all. This Republican Party is one for ALL Americans.”
This event follows a similar fundraiser hosted by Melania in April at Mar-a-Lago, where over $1 million was raised. Ahead of that event, Melania emphasized the importance of unity and patriotism in her social media posts.
The recent fundraiser set a record for the Log Cabin Republicans, with funds directed toward outreach initiatives targeting swing-state voters, including suburban women and gay and lesbian conservatives in battleground states. The group’s president, Charles Moran, noted the significance of this achievement.
