More on the Nixed WWE Online Game, Stream Sites Shut Down, Bearer

– Paul Bearer will be hosting a funeral parlor segment on Saturday, February 26th in Dundalk, Maryland for the Maryland Championship Wrestling promotion. Bearer will also be signing autographs and taking photos with fans.

– US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents issued warrants and shut down 10 websites yesterday accused of stealing and streaming live TV broadcasts including NFL games and pay-per-view events by WWE and UFC. Court documents cited several recent instances of sites offering illegal streams, including WWE’s TLC pay-per-view.

The warrants are so Internet domain gatekeepers can stop the sites while federal agents try to identify operators and charge them with copyright infringement. ICE Director John T. Morton said that the crackdown was intended to send a clear message to website owners “who mistakenly believe it’s worth the risk to take copyrighted programming and portray it as their own.”

– As noted before, the planned WWE online game has been nixed by THQ after announcing financial losses. It should be noted that the game was being planned for a release in Asia and according to THQ executives last year, the game was never planned to be released in the US or Europe.
