Earlier it was revealed that NJPW’s Kenny Omega would take on his longtime rival Xavier Woods at E3 2018 in a Street Fighter 5 showdown.
Woods and Omega have been involved in a heated video game rivalry for years, and even were a part of the trailer for one of SFV’s DLC characters, Cody Travers. It was revealed earlier last week that Woods and Omega would take each other on one final time at E3 2018.
However, both men would have to find two men to work with after Omega taunted Woods during their broadcasted contract signing on the Street Fighter Twitter account, claiming that he could beat him and any number of his friends. Woods responded, claiming that the Cleaner would be hard pressed to find two friends to join him.
Well, neither man had to look very far to find their teammates, as Xavier Woods picked his pancake flipping tag team partners, the New Day, while Kenny Omega brought in the Young Bucks, who have rekindled their friendship with Omega.
WWE even covered the news on their website, yet again mentioning the NJPW stars.
The six-man tag team showdown you’ve been dreaming of is happening this Thursday.
The New Day will collide with The Elite – Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks – in a Street Fighter V showdown at the Capcom booth during the E3 video game conference in Los Angeles.
