News on Indie Wrestling Possibly Finding Its Way Onto the WWE Network

According to a report from PWInsider, WWE officials are nearing a deal to bring top UK indie promotion Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) to the WWE Network. The deal is being said to be a multi-year one over a span of 2-3 years, with an official announcement coming as soon as next week.

ICW is described as something similar to the original ECW or the WWE’s product in the Attitude Era, and it is said its program will not be tuned down for the network.

What other indie promotions would you like to see WWE go after for the Network?

Yep. They’re in phase 2 or 3 of their network where they’ll start having other promotions to pull in subscribers. Smart move on their part.

I know of ICW but I’ve never gotten involved with it. It sounds like it’s decently popular in the UK, so I would be down to watch it if they brought it to the Network. I had a blast watching the UK tournament that they had this past weekend. The crowd really made it for me and it introduced me to a lot of good talent (Moustache Mountain!). I agree that it shouldn’t be toned down. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? It would be on the Network, anyway.

This is probably a smart move on the WWE’s part to start bringing in indie stuff. I imagine it would bring in a lot more subscribers.
