When he finally got a release from the company a lot of people believed that WWE will show interested in him but it didn’t happen and it appears that Aldis himself was disappointed with this at the time.

The current NWA Star talked about the period during a recent interview with SportingNews.com and claimed that it was a tough pill to swallow at the time:

I’m not alone in this but there’s a lot of people who thought I’d end up in WWE or at least have an opportunity and I didn’t get a sniff. It was a tough pill to swallow at the time and I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do next.

Continuing on the topic, he revealed how after his release, he got inspired by the work Marty Scurll had done in the independent circuit by creating his own character from scratch.
