It has been noted that Nikki Haley will announce that she is suspending her campaign for the Republican nomination for president in 2024, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
Haley will not announce an endorsement during her hastily scheduled 10 a.m. event, the Journal reported, but she will encourage her rival, former President Donald Trump, to “earn the support” of her voters. The Journal first reported the news, but multiple outlets, including CNN, Fox News, and the New York Times, later confirmed it.
Writing for the Journal, John McCormick reports:
Haley won’t announce an endorsement Wednesday, the people said. She will encourage Donald Trump, who is close to having the delegates needed to win the GOP nomination, to earn the support of Republican and independent voters who backed her.
She is expected to emphasize that she will continue to advocate for the conservative domestic and foreign policies she supports and caution against some of the dangers, such as isolationism and a lack of fiscal discipline, that she sees coming from Washington.
The announcement comes after a Super Tuesday that saw Trump beat Haley in all but one state — Vermont. Haley won just two primaries, Vermont and Washington D.C., and her path to the Republican nomination looked closed on Tuesday night, barring some other reason for Trump not getting the nomination.
Nikki Haley ended her GOP presidential campaign on Wednesday with a warning that it is "a moral imperative" for the U.S. to stand by its allies in Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, and that if it doesn't, “there will be more war, not less.” https://t.co/APETqYPbeg pic.twitter.com/LEVwxdBF9J

I end my campaign with the same words I began it from the Book of Joshua. I direct them to all Americans, but especially to so many of the women and girls out there who put their faith in our campaign.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. For God… pic.twitter.com/XAwgOGzKdy
