Former President Barack Obama remained tightlipped when asked whether his wife Michelle might make a bid for the White House against Donald Trump amid swirling rumors as he was spotted leaving a Beverly Hills restaurant via Daily Mail.
The 62-year-old former president was seen surrounded by security guards after enjoying a meal at Funke on South Santa Monica Boulevard. Barack was dressed in a slick black blazer, open collar shirt and gray trousers for his outing at the Los Angeles hotspot.
Meanwhile, Michelle Obama, 59, is vacationing aboard Steven Spielberg’s yacht near Portofino on the Italian Riviera with Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson, and Spielberg’s spouse Kate Capshaw.
Paparazzi who caught her husband leaving the restaurant asked him whether she would be making a bid for the White House – but he did not offer a comment.
Barack said something inaudible to waiting photographers but did not clearly respond to the question. It comes after prominent Texas politician and former Republican candidate Ted Cruz speculated that Michelle could replace Joe Biden before the 2024 election.
The Texas Senator said Democrats may be looking to avoid nominating 80-year-old Biden over concerns about his advanced age.

But for now, Michelle appears to be enjoying a period of relaxation off the coast of Italy alongside a slew of famous faces. The former First Lady has spent the last few weeks enjoying the European vacation without her husband. She was pictured taking a boat ride with a dazzling array of A-listers including Hanks and his wife Wilson, as well as acclaimed director Spielberg and his spouse Capshaw.
