An article on MedioTiempo.com reveals that Hijo del Perro Aguayo suffered a stroke caused by cervical spinal damage, and this is the official cause of death.
The article provides more insight into why the doctor in charge at the show wasn’t at ringside and why there was a delay in him getting to Aguayo, citing that he was preoccupied treating two other wrestlers who had been injured earlier in the show.
It’s also noted that he was taken backstage on a piece of plywood to get him there as quick as possible and that he was transferred to a stretcher for the ambulance.
As we noted, Aguayo was taken to Hospital del Prado in Tijuana where doctors tried for an hour to save him before finally confirming his passing.
