NXT will welcome back former star Chris Hero according to the Wrestling Observer.
He is likely to return under the Kassius Ohno name that he was using prior to his release, and the move is likely born out of the company trying to fill some gaps after the brand split took some of the NXT talent.
Hero has been active on the indie circuit since he was released at the end of 2013 and released the statement below when he did depart a few years ago:
“I’m leaving WWE on good terms so, if it’s meant to be, I’m sure I will be back. If it’s not meant to be, I can guarantee you that I will still be trotting all over the globe doing what I love (and what I’m damn good at) at the highest level possible.”
