Rey Fenix suffered an injury during his match against Pentagon El Zero M during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. He won the match and advanced to the semi-finals of the #1 Contender’s Tournament.
There were concerns that he would be unable to compete in the tournament due to an injury and that is exactly what happened. AEW officially announced on social media that Rey Fenix has forfeited his spot in the tournament to his brother.
It was earlier noted that Fenix could have suffered a possible concussion or neck injury during the match.
Next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite will feature e Penta El Zero M vs. Kenny Omega and Wardlow vs. Hangman Adam Page.
