Since his surprise Rumble appearance, where the WWE Universe welcomed him back with open arms, many have wondered if Rey Mysterio would be working with the WWE in the near future. The world champion said in a recent interview that he would like to come back to the company for one more run, however, it seems he’ll be putting that off, at least for the time being.
On February 10, Mysterio appeared on a screen at the New Beginning in Osaka show. He announced that he’ll be making his debut in California next month, closing the promo with a challenge to the legendary Jushin “Thunder” Liger. Liger accepted the challenge, are the two are scheduled to meet at Strong Style Evolved on March 25.

Working this deal doesn’t rule out anything for the WWE. It’s possible he could be working a similar schedule to Chris Jericho’s, who was able to make a brief appearance during Raw 25. But for now, at least through March 25, Mysterio will be taking his talents to New Japan.
