Ric Flair Debuting In AEW With WCW Icon?

He walked Andrade El Idolo to the ring at AAA TripleMania while recently he made an appearance at NWA 73. Rumors recently fueled up that he might be headed to AEW soon.

Ric Flair reveals Tony Khan has not approached him yet

‘The Nature Boy’ recently joined Renee Paquette’s podcast, Oral Sessions, and reflected on the recent rumors of him joining AEW. He said that AEW President Tony Khan has not reached out to him yet. Roman Reigns ‘Angers’ Charlotte Flair Backstage?

He said:

“I can also tell you, people who started rumors, no need to get into that. ‘Oh, he’s going to AEW. He and Tony Khan are friends’. Yeah, we are friends, but I haven’t heard a word from Tony. If he asks you, tell him I’m around (laughs).

However, Ric Flair didn’t rule out the possibility of heading to AEW. If the WWE Hall of Famer happened to join the company, he would go directly to Tony Khan and explain his current desires in pro wrestling. Flair said there is a huge possibility about Khan accepting whatever he pitches, including possibly getting back into the ring.

“If I want to go to work in AEW, I would go to him and say I want to do this because I want to get back into the ring.” Flair added, “I want to be able to do something, or I don’t want to back down or something. And he would say, ‘What’s best for you is best for me.'”

Later on though, Flair claimed he’d be in Chicago for All Out with Andrade for his match with PAC, but didn’t say he’d debut on screen. With AEW All Out PPV approaching soon, we will see if ‘Naitch’ makes his debut in the promotion. He did say he’d like to tag with Andrade against Sting and Darby Allin in a tag match in AEW.
