WWE star Sami Zayn received a wild welcome from his hometown fans of Montreal, where this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown took place. Zayn closed out the show and the crowd didn’t let him talk for several minutes as they filled the arena with various chants.
The Montreal fans chanted, “Ole,” “You deserve it,” and more at Sami. Then they busted out one chant that FOX had to censor totally.
WWE edited a chant
The Montreal crowd started chanting, “F*ck you Roman.” This chant did not stop, and they had to mute the entire broadcast. Then they had to black out the screen. Sami Zayn had a little bit of time to cut an incredibly brief promo after that, but the audio was actually still muted from those profane chants when he started talking.
Sami Zayn is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at tonight’s Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
It is needless to mention that Sami Zayn’s ongoing storyline with The Bloodline is one of the most significant and captivating in the entire WWE. The tension reached a boiling point during the Royal Rumble event, where Zayn’s shocking betrayal of Roman Reigns resulted in a brutal and unforgettable beatdown.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was reported that Vince McMahon has creative input on the storyline between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn right now.
“It’s Paul Levesque (Triple H) and Vince. Vince does have input into this one. He definitely does. But still, in theory, it’s Paul’s decision.”
We will have to see if Zayn is able to dethrone Reigns at the event.
