Sami Zayn Gets Top Star To Quit WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg had been working behind the scenes for WWE NXT prior to his WWE release back in January of this year. Road Dogg made a guest appearance on “Stories of Brisco and Bradshaw.” During the show, Road Dogg and fellow WWE Hall of Famer JBL spoke about WWE stars Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

JBL talks about Sami Zayn

JBL revealed that he quit the role of the agent of Zayn after working for six weeks. Though he was appreciative of Zayn, his role was questioned at the time. Road Dogg weighed in on the matter and noted Kevin Owens to be in the same way.

JBL said, “I lasted six weeks as an agent. I walked in and said, ‘I will not be doing this anymore.’ I love Sami. I think his character is great. But I was his agent and everything was questioned. Everything.”

Road Dogg added, “Kevin (Owens) is the same way. Every single thing needs to be talked out and talked about a lot, and I’m talking about from the reversal of an Irish Whip to, well now do you put your feet here? I would always just say, ‘You all put something together and come back to me’, because I wasn’t going to sit there and debate because that will do it. Sami Zayn will do it, but he’s the nicest guy in the world.”

JBL continued, “Sami is a nice guy. He’s extremely talented, but when I had to work with him as his agent, as soon as the match was over, I walked up to John Laurinaitis and said, ‘I will not be here next week.’ He said, ‘Is it that bad?’ I said, ‘I’m doing commentary only.”

In the recent past, JBL had provided commentary in the singles match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 37.
