Samoa Joe has been absent from in-ring competition for a long time owing to injuries. He suffered a concussion last time and had to be removed from any in-ring work. Since then he has been a part of the commentary team for the past few months.
Joe spoke to the Wilde On podcast, where he talked about his current status in WWE. While he is certainly enjoying his time on commentary, he is not done with professional wrestling.
“Right now I’m enjoying commentary on Raw. It’s been a fun challenge. Obviously, I’m not done in the ring by no means. I think right now I’m exploring things. Aside from that, I’m doing voice acting which is fun and very cool. It’s a very enjoyable thing. I have a project coming up with Warner Brothers. I’m very fortunate and I’m very happy that I’m doing the things I’m doing right now.”
Concussions are a very serious matter and WWE does not take them lightly. It could still be a while until fans get to see Joe compete in the squared circle again. Till then, they will be able to catch him every week on commentary.
