Mercedes Mone (formerly Sasha Banks in WWE) recently took to her Instagram account and posted a picture on her 32nd birthday. Her caption read:
“Get ready for an epic ride because 32 is about to unleash a whirlwind of adventure and fun! I am beyond grateful to have another year to chase my dreams and conquer new heights. I’m ready to rock this year and shake the table like never before! “
The professional wrestling world has been buzzing about the status of free agent Mercedes Mone for the past few months. Some rumors hint at her potential return to WWE, while others suggest a move to AEW is more likely.
More definitive reports in recent weeks have made it appear that an AEW signing is imminent, and a recent source from WWE per a report from Fightful Select may have even spoiled the fact that Mone and AEW have made an agreement with one another.
It is noted in the report that Fighftul reached out to a WWE source to assess the chances of Mone being in attendance. The response from one source said, “Well, we’re not really interested in contract tampering with her, so I doubt it”.
This seems to suggest that Mone is already tied down to a contract or some sort of deal, with AEW being the most logical answer.
