WWE had released Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett, and Buddy Murphy last year. The reason cited was part of budget cuts, and Strowman was being paid $1.2 million per year according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The former WWE Universal Champion signed a new contract in October 2019, so the budget cut regarding Strowman is the WWE’s biggest saving financially from all of the talent cuts in the last year plus during the pandemic.
Karrion Kross would make his return back in August this year, where he took out Drew McIntyre and sent a message to Roman Reigns as well. Scarlett made her return to the ring as part of last night’s WWE live event in Wheeling, West Virginia. This was her first match since she debuted on the main roster as well.
She and her husband Karrion Kross faced off against Emma and Madcap Moss. However, the match was not smooth sailing for the married couple. As seen in the video below, the referee’s positioning was the reason for Scarlett suffering an unfortunate botch.
Scarlett was looking to hit a baseball slide, but the referee gets in the way, so her legs get tangled around him and she ends up missing Emma. Later in the match, Karrion got a hold of Emma, and Scarlett went to slap her, but she moved, so Scarlett slapped Kross instead.
