Vince Russo recently discussed how Triple H and Stephanie McMahon appeared to be plotting to take over WWE before the Endeavor purchase was finalized.
Before Vince McMahon opted to relinquish control of the company early this year, the massive worldwide wrestling empire had been run as a family business for many years. Even though there had been whispers of a sale for the past few years, everything came together when Endeavor signed a multi-billion dollar transaction, combining WWE and UFC.
On Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Outlaws, the former WCW writer spoke about how Stephanie McMahon and Triple H became two of the most powerful people in WWE last year once Vince stepped down. However, Russo added that things went for a toss for them once Endeavor acquired the promotion.
“I think what it really affects, let’s just be honest, him and Stephanie had a plan. There was no doubt about it. Shane, for whatever reason, had a falling out. So now Shane’s out of the picture. Vince was getting older. It was at a point when Stephanie and Triple H had all the power. This has totally flipped it upside down,” said Russo.
Recently, Shane’s son Declan McMahon was spotted in the crowd at Saturday’s WWE Fastlane event. Accompanying him was the Indiana Hoosiers football team. Declan looked absolutely pumped to be at the event.
