NXT held television tapings last night in Full Sail Arena and many things happened during the tapings.
The episode featured a steel cage match between Shayna Baszler and Io Shirai for the NXT Women’s Title. In the end, Baszler was successful in retaining her title against Shirai.
Following the match ending, Io Shirai beat down on Candice LeRae and she blamed Candice for her loss. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that this was definitely a heel turn and a better candidate could not have been picked as LeRae is loved by fans everywhere.
So now Shirai is officially a heel and it will be interesting to see how WWE books her from here on out.
