Colin Rugg reported that the building Thomas Crooks used to fire at former President Donald Trump was the staging area for the local police tactical team, as stated by ABC News. This revelation has raised serious questions about security protocols and how Crooks managed to access the roof.
ccording to two law enforcement officials who spoke to ABC News, the building where gunman Thomas Crooks scrambled onto the roof and opened fire was the staging area for the local police tactical team doing overwatch of the crowd,” Rugg stated.
Investigators are now focusing on how Crooks was able to gain access to the roof, which was supposed to be secured by law enforcement.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, was described by former classmates as a bullied loner. Authorities found explosive devices in his car following the incident.
Crooks was stationed on the roof of a manufacturing plant over 130 yards away from the Butler Farm Show grounds where Trump’s rally was taking place. He fired shots that grazed Trump’s ear, killed a volunteer firefighter, and wounded two other individuals. Secret Service snipers quickly returned fire, killing Crooks after he fired approximately eight rounds.
