Steve Austin Cries In Video After Vince McMahon

WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin recently shared his emotional experience of returning to the ring at WrestleMania 38 after a 19-year hiatus. Austin faced Kevin Owens in a match that was set up after Owens insulted Texas, Austin’s home state. The bout concluded with Austin delivering his iconic Stunner to secure the win.

During the A&E WWE Legends Biography, Austin revealed details about his return and the pivotal phone call he received from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Initially, Austin was simply eager to participate in WrestleMania, regardless of his position on the card. However, he was taken aback when McMahon called and asked him about the possibility of headlining the event.

“It was just great to be a part of WrestleMania, I didn’t care where on the card they wanted me, I was just happy to be there. Vince called me and said ‘How do you feel about closing the show?’ [gets extremely emotional],” Austin recounted, visibly moved by the memory. “I was there that night. Pretty good, yeah. So for me to be 57 in the main event at WrestleMania with Kevin Owens, there’s a lot going on.”

Austin’s emotional response highlights the significance of his return and the honor of closing the show at such a prestigious event. His match with Owens was not only a testament to his enduring legacy but also a special moment for fans who witnessed the return of The Texas Rattlesnake on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
