Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Vince McMahon had to permanently shut down the XFL. However, in wake of this, a wrongful termination lawsuit was filed against Vince McMahon by Oliver Luck.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the lawsuit which was filed against McMahon. Meltzer said that Oliver Luck had a deal where he was promised money even if XFL did not survive, which was why Luck left from his great NCAA spot. He said that Vince McMahon did not communicate with Luck at all before suddenly sending him a letter saying he was fired with the various reasons why.
Vince McMahon told people that he invested around $500 million for the XFL once he sold 300 million in stock. However, it seems he only lost around $44 million, if we do not include his current debts.
Meltzer added that Vince McMahon apparently has a very bad reputation right now after allegedly “screwing” Oliver Luck out of a lot of money. Meltzer claims that McMahon is also not paying several other executives, printing shops, merchandise sellers and even “mom and pop” stores leading to them facing possible bankruptcy.
This is certainly a troublesome situation and perhaps more details will be unearthed. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
