Tony Khan on the potential of AEW releasing talents due to revenue loss

WWE released over a dozen stars as part of their coronavirus budget cuts last month and this move from the company amidst the ongoing pandemic made a lot of headlines.

At the other end of the spectrum is AEW which has not announced any such move but the President Tony Khan does admit that they are losing a lot of money and it’s a possibility for future.

The AEW President recently appeared on the AEW Unrestricted podcast and talking about the lost revenue of live events, he said that they are losing millions:

We’ve lost millions and millions of dollars in live events. I don’t take it lightly, but I can’t take it out on the people that work here because it’s not their fault. We’ve really not let anybody go here as a company, and look, I’m gonna be honest, there’s gonna come a day where somebody, we’re gonna have to, but now is not the time.

Continuing on the topic, the AEW Official explained that it’s a hard time for them but they are trying to look at the bigger picture and claimed that they are in a good shape:

This is a hard time for everybody. It’s a hard time for us, but I have to look at the bigger picture. In the big picture, we’re in such good shape. We’re the second healthiest wrestling company in the world, and that’s a really great place to be. And we haven’t let a single person go to do it.
