Triple H is currently the COO of WWE and he is also a veteran in the world of professional wrestling, having competed in several great matches and countless memorable moments during his time as an active in-ring competitor in the company. Triple H’s surprise WrestleMania 37 appearance was also recently revealed.
Triple H is certainly familiar with former WWE Superstar and current AEW star Chris Jericho, with whom he has competed several times over the years. It seems despite a similar career path, Triple H was not the biggest fan of Chris Jericho and always considered him to be “a WCW guy.”
Chris Jericho recently spoke on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions show, where Le Champion stated that his primary goal was always to work for Vince McMahon and many including Triple H did not see that.
“There was some people that just didn’t want me there because I was a WCW guy, not realizing [that he ultimately wanted to work for WWE]. I talked to Triple H about this on Talk Is Jericho. We hated each other for years and we don’t even really know why now, but at the time it was like, ‘This guy’s a piece of s***.’ He said, ‘I never realized that you came here on your own. I thought maybe your contract was up or they didn’t want you.’ I took as much of a stand to get there [WWE] as he did. He left [WCW] to get there [WWE], as you did.”
