According to Mediate, Boris Epshteyn, a former adviser to Donald Trump, faced allegations of inappropriate behavior involving two women at a nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2021. The incident was captured on police bodycam footage, which showed the women describing the alleged assault to officers. The women claimed that Epshteyn had repeatedly groped and made them uncomfortable throughout the night.
In the footage, a 27-year-old woman reported to the officer that Epshteyn had been touching her and her sister inappropriately, describing his actions as touching their chests, hips, and crotch. She recalled telling him to stay away from her sister and attempting to get away from him, but Epshteyn persisted in his behavior. The video also showed the officer interviewing witnesses and eventually detaining Epshteyn based on the allegations.
Epshteyn denied the allegations and repeatedly requested to stand up during his detainment. Eventually, he was charged with several offenses, including assault touching, attempted sexual abuse, harassment-repeated acts, and disorderly conduct. However, the first three charges were dismissed, and Epshteyn later pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. He served probation and had his conviction set aside by the court in January 2023.
This incident was not Epshteyn’s first brush with legal trouble in Scottsdale. In 2014, he was charged with “assault touching” at another club and signed a plea deal that included community service, court fees, and an agreement not to have contact with the victim or return to the venue.
“Epshteyn signed a plea deal, agreeing not to have contact with the victim and not to return to the venue, to pay court fees, and to complete 25 hours of community service… In the 2021 case, he was sentenced to five days in jail but credited with time served if he completed 11 months of probation, completed an alcohol program, paid a fine and avoided contact with the two women.”
