Former President Donald Trump has seemingly made an addition to a new election lie via Mediaite.
It has been noted that Trump has falsely claimed the 2020 election was stolen from him. Ahead of that, he said he would have won the popular vote in 2016. However, said that “millions of people who voted illegally,” which was also false. Trump had previously falsely alleged the 2016 GOP primary was a “rigged system” working against his campaign.
Now, the former president has a new prevarication: he won every 2024 Republican primary and by record margins.
Trump called into Tuesday’s edition of Greg Kelly Reports on Newsmax, where he responded to a question about possibly choosing former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley as his running mate. Haley unsuccessfully challenged Trump for the nomination this year.
The former president dodged the question and dinged Haley for losing her home state’s primary before claiming he ran the table.
As far as Nikki is concerned, I was very disappointed in her because she stayed too long. And remember, I beat her in her own state. I beat her very badly everywhere. You know, I set records in the primaries. People don’t, you know, wanna talk about it, but if it was somebody else other than me, they’d say, “Wow, what a job.”
We won every primary in a record. We beat her in her state – South Carolina, where she was governor – by record numbers. If you look at the kind of numbers we got, they’re incredible.
While Trump easily defeated Haley for the Republican presidential nomination, he did not beat her “everywhere,” as won the primaries in Vermont and Washington, D.C.
