Former President Donald Trump recently trashed Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.).
It was earlier this month that Good, chair of the pro-MAGA House Freedom Caucus, traveled to New York as part of a contingent of Congressional Trump sycophants to make a public show of his support for the former president during his trial. Good alongside his primary opponent John McGuire also hitched a ride in Trump’s motorcade.
“We’re here to have his back,” Good said. “We’re here to defend him and to tell the truth about this travesty of justice, this political persecution, this election interference, this rigging of elections.”
It has been noted on Tuesday, ahead of closing arguments in the trial that Trump went out of his way to slam Good in his public endorsement of McGuire.
“Bob Good is BAD FOR VIRGINIA, AND BAD FOR THE USA,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He turned his back on our incredible movement, and was constantly attacking and fighting me until recently, when he gave a warm and ‘loving’ Endorsement — But really, it was too late. The damage had been done!”
“I just want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and the person that can most help me do that is Navy Seal and highly respected State Legislator, John McGuire, a true American Hero,” he continued. “John, who fought the Cartels on the Front Line, and then came home and fought the drug dealers in Virginia, will ALWAYS PUT AMERICA FIRST.”

The Virginia House Republican primary is set for June 18, with early voting already underway. The competition between Good and McGuire has turned into a heated battle over the candidates’ Republican credentials, and a last-minute intervention by Trump could potentially cost Good his seat.
