Former President Donald Trump recently threatened to release a list of “woke” companies on Tuesday while defending Anheuser-Busch on Tuesday. It has been noted that Trump is set to meet with a major Republican lobbyist for Anheuser-Busch in March, and some tickets are selling for $10,000 a pop.
It was in the last spring that Bud Light sent transgender Instagram influencer Dylan Mulvaney a customized can of beer to promote on social media, just as the company had done with other popular social media personalities. As a counterpoint, conservative luminary Kid Rock filmed himself shooting cases of Bud Light with a high-powered rifle.
“F**k Bud Light,” he opined. “F**k Anheuser-Busch.”
Conservatives responded by boycotting the product, resulting in a significant decline in sales. Meanwhile, then-presidential candidate Ron DeSantis ordered an investigation into Anheuser-Busch.
Posting on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump called Bud Light’s one-time arrangement with Mulvaney a “mistake,” but said the brand does not belong to a “woke” company:
The Bud Light ad was a mistake of epic proportions, and for that a very big price was paid, but Anheuser-Busch is not a Woke company, but I can give you plenty that are, am building a list, and might just release it for the World to see. Why not, the Radical Left does it viciously to well run, Conservative companies – and people! Very nasty, but it’s the way they play the game! On the other hand, Anheuser-Busch spends $700 Million a year with our GREAT Farmers, employ 65 thousand Americans, of which 1,500 are Veterans, and is a Founding Corporate Partner of Folds of Honor, which provides Scholarships for families of fallen Servicemen & Women. They’ve raised over $30,000,000 and given 44,000 Scholarships. Anheuser-Busch is a Great American Brand that perhaps deserves a Second Chance? What do you think?
