Former President Donald Trump vehemently denied the explosive allegations that emerged in an ABC News report, accusing him of disclosing highly classified nuclear submarine secrets to a Mar-a-Lago club member, Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt. The report suggested that Pratt subsequently shared these sensitive details with over a dozen foreign officials, several of his employees, and a handful of journalists. Furthermore, it claimed that Pratt had cooperated with the FBI and Trump’s prosecutors regarding this matter.
Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Friday to refute the allegations, dismissing them as “false and ridiculous.” He sought to offer an alternative narrative, asserting that he was merely expressing support for the strength of the U.S. military:
“The ridiculous story put out today about me talking to a Mar-a-Lago member about U.S. Submarines, is false and ridiculous, other than the fact that I will often state that we make the best Submarines and Military Equipment anywhere in the World—A pretty well-known fact! These fake stories are put out by corrupt prosecutors trying to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, and based on the polling, where I am 60 points up on Republican Candidates, and 11 points up on Crooked Joe Biden, the people of our Country aren’t buying it. With that being said, I will always promote the Greatness of America—and its Military Equipment. The alternative would be for Allies, and others, to buy from Russia, China, or elsewhere. I like creating jobs in America, which was one of my most successful achievements as President!”
Later that Friday night, Trump launched a scathing attack on President Joe Biden, accusing him, without evidence, of orchestrating the legal actions and prosecutions against him, which now include an ongoing fraud trial in New York. Trump tweeted:
“Crooked Joe Biden does the absolute opposite of what should be done to save our Country. He doesn’t have a clue!”
He further added:
“I hope everyone remembers that these ridiculous indictments and trials that so frequently come my way are ALL started and inspired by Crooked Joe Biden and his gang of Thugs. It is called Weaponization of ‘Justice,’ and nothing like this has ever happened in our Country before. We will fight, and we will win, but this is yet another giant SCAM. It is Election Interference!”
Multiple fact-checking outlets, including CNN’s Jake Tapper, have debunked Trump’s claims, finding no basis for his allegations against President Biden.
