Trump Female Attorney Drops Brett Kavanaugh Bombshell

Former President Donald Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba recently took the highly unusual step and predicted that a specific Supreme Court justice will rule in her client’s favor. Her comment came after his legal team asked the court to overturn a state decision barring him from the ballot via Mediaite

Last month, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Trump must be removed from the ballot because he engaged in “insurrection” after losing the 2020 election, culminating in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The court ruled such an act bars Trump from holding federal office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which states that federal officeholders must not have engaged in “insurrection or rebellion.”

This week, Trump’s lawyers asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overrule the decision. Trump also asked the Supreme Court to invalidate a decision by Maine’s secretary of state to remove him from the ballot due to insurrection.

Habba appeared on Thursday’s Hannity, where the host asked her about the cases.

“Nobody that I know has even been charged with anything involving insurrection, let alone convicted of it,” Sean Hannity said. “I would imagine this has to be a unanimous decision by the Supreme Court. They have to take it in my view.”

“I think it’ll clarify a lot of confusion amongst the states, amongst these rogue people like the woman we see in Maine who’s not even a lawyer, who thinks she can find some obscure section of some statute and apply it to a former president,” Habba said. “He has not been charged with insurrection. He has not been prosecuted for it. He has not been found guilty of it.”

Habba then name-checked Justice Brett Kavanaugh, whom Trump appointed along with Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch.

“I think it should be a slam dunk in the Supreme Court,” she added. “I have faith in them. You know, people like Kavanaugh, who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place, he’ll step up. Those people will step up. Not because they’re pro-Trump, but because they’re pro-law, because they’re pro-fairness. And the law on this is very clear.”

Trump is currently under federal indictment over his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in states he lost. He also faces criminal charges in Georgia for trying to subvert the result there.
