Trump Official ‘Begs’ Him For Money At Mar-a-lago

In a surprising revelation, former New York City Mayor and attorney for former President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, reportedly made a visit to Mar-a-Lago in April with the intention of persuading Trump to cover his growing legal expenses. CNN host Kaitlan Collins unveiled this intriguing detail on her show, “The Source,” shedding light on Giuliani’s attempt to secure financial assistance directly from the former president.

During the episode, Collins disclosed that she had received information indicating that Giuliani’s trip to Mar-a-Lago was motivated by a desire to engage in a face-to-face appeal to Trump. Giuliani, accompanied by lawyer Robert Costello, aimed to explain the pressing need for Trump’s financial support in light of the mounting legal bills. The pair believed that a personal meeting could effectively communicate the urgency of the situation.

Collins reported that Giuliani and Costello presented their case by emphasizing that Trump’s involvement in alleviating Giuliani’s financial burden was in his best interests. However, according to Collins, their plea “fell on deaf ears,” as Trump exhibited reluctance to commit to the substantial financial assistance requested.

Although one source suggested that Trump verbally agreed to offer some aid, no specific amount or timeline was established. Another source indicated that Trump had agreed to cover a modest fee, roughly amounting to $340,000, attributed to a data vendor hosting Giuliani’s records. However, the overall sum of Giuliani’s legal fees is reported to be in the realm of seven figures.

This episode highlights the financial challenges faced by Giuliani as he navigates the legal repercussions stemming from his involvement in Trump’s post-election efforts. It was reported that Giuliani has been hit with 13 charges, including violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, in relation to Trump’s endeavors to contest the 2020 election results in Georgia.

Interestingly, the revelation of Giuliani’s trip to Mar-a-Lago and his appeal for financial support from Trump also shed light on Trump’s response. Trump’s apparent reluctance to fully commit to covering Giuliani’s extensive legal fees surprised some within his inner circle. This development is particularly noteworthy considering the potential legal pressures that both Trump and Giuliani could face from federal and state prosecutors.

“Trump is notoriously strict about digging into his own coffers. He did not seem very interested, I’m told, in covering everything that Giuliani and Costello wanted,” Collins claimed:

One source says that he verbally agreed to help, but he didn’t commit to any specific amount or timeline. Another source tells me that Trump really only agreed to pay a small fee from a data vendor that was hosting Giuliani’s records. I’m told that was about $340,000. All in total, Giuliani’s legal fees are in the seven-figure range. Giuliani’s trip to Mar-a-Lago has not been previously reported, we’re telling you aborut it first here on The Source tonight.

Collins also reported that “some people in Trump’s inner circle were actually surprised by Trump’s unwillingness to pay for Giuliani’s bills, given he could find himself under intense pressure to cooperate with federal and now state prosecutors who have charged Trump.”
