Trump Official Melts Down Before Going To Prison

Peter Navarro has urged the reporters to concentrate on more than the “little story” of him reporting to prison via Mediaite.

Former trade advisor in Donald Trump’s administration Navarro, is serving four months prison after he failed to comply with a subpoena issued by the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

It has been noted that Navarro told reporters in Miami outside where he’ll serve his time and he continued to claim he was under no legal obligation to testify, a claim immediately fact-checked by Fox News, CNN, and other outlets carrying his talk.

“The little story here is Navarro is going to prison today. You guys will certainly focus on that little story, but what I suggest to you as journalists is that there’s two really bigger stories that you might want to report on and even do some research on,” Navarro said.

Those couple of stories as per the former Trump advisor, are an “assault on constitutional separation of powers” and the “partisan weaponization of our justice system.”

“When I walk in that prison today, the justice system such as it is will have done a crippling blow to the constitutional separation of powers and executive privilege,” Navarro said.

He pushed reporters to “do some background” on his claims before many began immediately fact checking his claims about executive privilege making his charge unjustifiable.

“I’m hoping as journalists you will do some background, some research. I’m asking you to fact check everything I say today and write the bigger stories here, which I think are the important ones,” he said.
