Trump Official Says His Memory Is ‘Worrying’

Alyssa Farah Griffin has seemingly labeled it “remarkable” that there is concern over President Joe Biden’s age. However, it’s not nearly as much about the age of her former boss Donald Trump, declaring the latter has only “gotten worse” as he continues campaigning for a return to the White House via Mediaite.

During an appearance on CNN with John Berman, a former communications official in the Trump administration, Griffin, argued that Trump’s recent public gaffes should be as worrying to voters as those of Biden. Trump is 77 years old, while Biden is 81.

Berman mentioned that a recent New York Times/Siena College survey showed that more than 70% of those surveyed believe that Biden is too old to be president, while only 42% believe the same about Trump.

Berman then played a clip of Trump campaigning over the weekend where he mixed up the names of Biden and Barack Obama, something he has previously claimed he does on purpose. Griffin was unsure why the public appears more concerned with Biden’s age than that of her former boss.

“He is not as sharp as he was in 2016 and not even as sharp as he was in 2020,” Griffin said about Trump. “For some reason, that doesn’t necessarily come across to voters the same way, but Donald Trump is not the strongest fighter that Republicans could have right now, and it’s remarkable how much voters don’t see the age as also an issue because he is only three and a half years younger than President Joe Biden but there is something about the way they carry themselves that is just seen very differently.”

The current View co-host admitted Trump has never been “super articulate or elegant” with his speeches but argued he more consistently mixes up names.

“It’s gotten worse, it hasn’t gotten better,” she said.
