Former President Donald Trump has initiated the first news cycle of 2024 by persistently asserting falsehoods about the 2020 election, claiming to possess “fully verified” proof. In a two-part post on Truth Social, accompanied by a 32-page document, Trump declared that the information was sourced from government documents, tapes, and other public records, compiled by reputed election experts. He contended that the numbers presented in the report conclusively demonstrated hundreds of thousands of votes per swing state more than he needed to win.
In the first part of his post, Trump warned of the alleged atrocity and insisted that, without intervention from the Republican Senate, a similar scenario would recur, making it nearly impossible for Republicans to win future elections.
In the second part, Trump emphasized that he was not campaigning during the period when he continued to dispute the 2020 election results. He justified his actions by claiming that, as President and Commander-in-Chief, it was his duty to bring attention to what he believed was a rigged and stolen election. He asserted that by doing so, he was fulfilling his obligation under the Take Care Clause, which requires the President to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” Trump went further to claim total immunity for his actions, arguing that he was safeguarding the country from rigged and stolen elections.
However, the 32-page PDF attached to Trump’s posts lacks a named author, and its content is not independently verified. It is crucial to note that there has been no substantiated evidence of election fraud in the 2020 general election, which was won by President Joe Biden. The repeated claims of widespread fraud and stolen elections have been widely discredited and debunked by various audits, investigations, and court rulings.

If I did not do this, I would have been in violation of my Oath of Office, and the Take Care Clause, which requires the President to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” Therefore I am entitled to Total Immunity, because that is exactly what I was doing, Taking Care of our Country, and Guarding it from Rigged and Stolen Elections.
