Donald Trump’s good friend, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) criticized Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for his apparent skepticism of the GOP’s impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. During an appearance on Meet the Press, Graham stated that he hadn’t been closely following the House GOP’s investigations into Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter Biden’s business activities, and he emphasized the need for a smoking gun for serious consideration of impeachment.
At the Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference in Arizona, Greene voiced her disapproval of Graham’s stance. She questioned how Graham could claim not to have seen enough evidence for impeachment and asked the crowd if they believed there was sufficient evidence. The audience responded with approval, prompting Greene to suggest that someone should run for senator in South Carolina against Graham.
“If there were a smoking gun, I think we’d be talking about it,” noted Graham, who added that while “the narrative that Hunter Biden presented is falling apart,” he was “not worried about impeaching the president right now.”
At Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference in Arizona, Greene railed against Graham.
“How can Lindsey Graham in Washington, D.C. on Meet the Press say that he hasn’t seen a smoking gun of evidence, that he doesn’t think that we produced enough evidence to impeach Joe Biden? Let me ask the American people, do you think that we have produced enough evidence to impeach Joe Biden?” Greene asked the crowd, which roared with approval.
In a video clip of Greene’s remarks, she highlighted the apparent contradiction in Graham’s position and humorously suggested that South Carolina might need a new senator.
Both Greene and Graham are aligned with former President Donald Trump and have endorsed his potential bid to reclaim the Republican nomination in 2024. Graham faced boos at a Trump campaign rally in South Carolina in September, where Trump acknowledged Graham’s support on certain issues and defended their alliance.
