Tucker Carlson Quit After Sad Trump Lawsuit?

Justin Hart took to Twitter and gave some interesting insight into Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News, and how it may have tied into the Donald Trump and January 6th related Dominion lawsuits.

My sources are telling me: Tucker was all set to go live tonight. He probably had plans to talk about the lawsuit and clear his name. Producers were prepping guests and slots of Monday’s show. Corporate nixed the idea and Tucker up and quit!

According to Politico, many politicians have strong opinions regarding the recent departure of Fox News host Tucker Carlson from the media outlet. This announcement drew a mixed reaction from Republicans, with some showing support for Carlson’s move, while others criticized the media personality for his polarizing coverage.

Republican Representative Lauren Boebert from Colorado tweeted, “I STAND WITH TUCKER CARLSON!” expressing her support for Carlson’s decision. Kari Lake, a former Arizona gubernatorial candidate and television host, also congratulated Carlson on his move, stating, “The best decision I ever made was leaving Fox. Good for you, @TuckerCarlson. You’re free & uncensored!”

On the other hand, former Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney, who frequently criticized Carlson in the past, commented, “It’s about time” after all his “lies and defamation.”

Democrats also shared similar views, characterizing Carlson’s departure as a win for democracy. Representative Seth Moulton from Massachusetts tweeted, “Crazy thought, but maybe it’s time to face some consequences after blatantly lying to millions of Americans and actively eroding democracy for years.” Meanwhile, Representative Bill Pascrell from New Jersey criticized the primetime host, calling his program “a sewer of countless lies and hate spewed out every single night” in a tweet, and expressed satisfaction that “one of the leading election deniers and opponents of democracy in America and abroad will no longer have a primetime platform. That’s a good thing.”

Carlson had spent 14 years as a political analyst at Fox News and had made a name for himself as a conservative firebrand, often stirring up controversies that landed him in hot water with both Democrats and Republicans. Before his stint at Fox News, he worked as a host on MSNBC for three years.

One of the controversies that Carlson created was in March when he stated that the rioters were “right” to believe the 2020 presidential election was “unfairly conducted,” despite there being no evidence of election interference. Additionally, Carlson has expressed his support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, once stating, “Why do I care what is going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia? I’m serious. Why shouldn’t I root for Russia? Which, by the way, I am.” He later claimed that he was joking.

In 2018, Carlson faced backlash from numerous advertisers due to immigration-related remarks he made, stating that some lawmakers tell Americans they have a “moral obligation to admit the world’s poor…even if it makes our own country poorer and dirtier and more divided.”

Shortly after Fox News announced Carlson’s departure, CNN host Don Lemon also announced that he was fired by his company, citing “some larger issues at play.” The news sparked much discussion and debate among politicians and the public alike.
