ABC News journalist Jonathan Karl recently claimed that Tucker Carlson revealed former President Donald Trump is “far more radical” on Ukraine then he lets on in public via Mediaite.
Karl recently joined Bill Kristol for an interview on his podcast where he mentioned how he learned Trump had begun calling Carlson on a regular occasion after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to discuss foreign policy.
It has been noted in a private conversation with Karl that Carlson revealed that Trump agrees with the former Fox News host that Ukraine and the United States were to blame for the war and not Russia.
Throughout the campaign trail, Trump is one of the few Republicans running in the primary who has expressed distained for giving Ukraine financial and military aid. The former president has vowed to end the conflict by forcing Ukraine to negotaite with Russia and hand over the Donbas region.
I called him up just to see if this was true. And he acknowledged, we do talk regularly. It wasn’t like every day was more like maybe once or twice a week. And I said the person that told me this thought he was kind of lonely. That’s why he was talking to you. And he said, ‘Well, I don’t know if it was really that’ it was because…Most of these conversations, according to Tucker Carlson, were about foreign policy and specifically about Ukraine. He said the calls became much more regular after the invasion of of Ukraine. And he said Trump agrees with me far more than he lets on in public. He’s far more radical on this than he lets on in public. As a matter of fact, he’s is basically the only person, you know, classic kind of Tucker Carlson exaggeration perhaps, but not necessarily substantively wrong here. That nobody is more in sync with where he is on Russia and Ukraine than Donald Trump. And, you know, Tucker Carlson’s position on Ukraine, which is basically that Ukraine’s the aggressor. And and, you know, and I mean, he’s basically echoes what you see on Russian state television. And that’s where Trump is, according to Tucker Carlson.
