The duo joined the live recording of the weekly comedy podcast, “Kill Tony,” where aspiring comics each perform for 60 seconds at Rogan’s Comedy Mothership Club in Austin, Texas. About 30 minutes into the set, show host Tony Hinchcliffe announced Carlson and Rogan, prompting the crowd to erupt into cheers.
As Carlson and Rogan greeted everyone onstage, the audience continued to cheer them on enthusiastically. Rogan mentioned that Carlson had only learned about the onstage appearance moments before.
“We were just having dinner, and Joe wanted to show me his new place. We were backstage, and I didn’t know I was coming out until I heard my name,” Carlson explained.
As the show progressed with various comedians, Carlson expressed his admiration for one of the performers, Enrique Chacon, leading to a light-hearted exchange between them about immigration and job competition.
Later, comedian Kam Patterson joked about his grandma disliking Carlson, prompting laughter from the crowd and a humorous exchange between Patterson and Carlson.
The comedy continued with William Montgomery, who incorporated Carlson into his routine, touching on political topics and eliciting laughter from the audience.
The show concluded with guest appearances from country legend Wynonna Judd and rapper Azmattic. Hinchcliffe thanked the panel, including Carlson and Rogan, as he called for a final round of applause from the audience.
