As noted, WWE recently released Steve Lombardi, who wrestled as The Brooklyn Brawler in the company.
It was noted in this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lombardi’s release was partially due to a small mistake that he made. No word yet on what the mistake was.
Lombardi signed with WWE in 1983 and was used as a preliminary wrestler until 1989 when he was given a big push and was managed by Bobby Heenan and was placed in a feud with Terry Taylor. After that feud, he was once again moved down the card and was used as a prelim talent.
Lombardi transitioned into a behind the scenes role in the 1990’s and helped talent with their promos.
