Vince McMahon Blocked From Mass WWE Firing

Many have speculated that Vince McMahon has influence on WWE’s weekly shows. Vince McMahon was not in attendance at last night’s “WWE Raw” taping in Seattle, Washington. Despite McMahon’s absence, there were suggestions that WWE’s Executive Chairman could influence the show remotely, as was reportedly the case during last week’s WWE SmackDown.

In an update from PWInsider, McMahon “went over the original plans” for Monday’s “Raw” but did not order “any massive changes” or rewrites.

The report added that while there were some “major rewrites” to the show, they were not brought about by McMahon, who was back in his home in Stamford, Connecticut. Instead, the changes were brought about due to travel issues faced by WWE talents and personnel in getting to the location of this week’s red brand show. As such, Triple H and his WWE creative team were forced to rewrite the show on the fly due to logistical challenges.

More details on Vince McMahon’s involvement

Xero News and Plug Talk Podcast have reported that:

“Vince is not back in creative. Doesn’t have the control for mass releases or cost cutting procedures. PLE will not increase in prices.

Vince McMahon retains his position and no longer is majority shareholder.”

WWE has been sold to UFC’s parent company, Endeavor. In a statement, Endeavor announced a “definitive agreement” that will see WWE come under the company’s ownership in an estimated $9.3 billion deal.

The deal will see Endeavor from a new publicly listed company, consisting of both WWE and UFC. Endeavor will hold a 51% controlling interest in the new company and existing WWE shareholders will hold a 49% interest in the new company.

While Triple H remains to be the Chief Content Officer after WWE was sold to Endeavor, Vince McMahon will be involved in the creative aspect “on a higher level.”
