There had been rumors that Roman Reigns would be stripped off a championship. However, during the Draft, ‘The Tribal Chief’ was drafted to Friday Night SmackDown taking the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to the blue brand. Previously, the WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H recently announced that WWE Night of Champions will mark the return of the World Heavyweight Championship. Roman Reigns’ hold on the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship has led to this decision, and a new champion will be crowned in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 27.

“Furthermore, it was said to be Vince’s decision to keep Roman as the two belt Undisputed Champion, and introduce a third belt, rather than stripping him of one championship- believing that the Roman Reigns presentation should remained untouched and not lessened in any way whatsoever. Roman Reigns is set to be drafted to SmackDown as the No. 1 pick, where he will keep both belts, but won’t bother attending the show- as per his original agreement.”

With the No.1 pick, Undisputed WWE Univeral Champion Roman Reigns got selected into SmackDown in the 2023 WWE draft on Friday. Along with Reigns, Enforcer of The Bloodline Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman also got drafted in SmackDown.
The Usos had challenged Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a losing effort.
During the match, the former Universal Champion brought himself some time but sent Jimmy Uso face-first into the turnbuckle. Jey tagged in just as Owens tagged out, with Sami Zayn being all over both Usos, sending them crashing to ringside. KO then hit a Fisherman Buster off the top rope, headed back up and delivered a Swanton Bomb.
WWE fans got a backstage cut as Paul Heyman received a call from The Tribal Chief. He then ominously turned to Sikoa and said, “Tonight is your night.” Sikoa also tried to interfere during the match but Matt Riddle came to the aid of KO and Sami.
The final moments of the match saw Sami hitting the Helluva Kick on Jimmy for the pinfall win & title retention.
The two-night 2023 WWE Draft will continue on Monday Night Raw on May 1. On Monday, all eyes will be on Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso as it remains to be seen where The Usos will get drafted in.
